This policy covers qr.4brainslabs.com, operated by 4Brains Technologies Private Limited. The 4Brains Labs privacy policy covers all of our sites; this page adds the detail for QR Studio and does not contradict it.

What you type stays on your device

Every QR code is generated inside your browser. The link, WiFi password, contact details, payment information or text you enter is never sent to us or to anyone else. There is no upload, no account and no storage. Close the tab and it is gone.

Scans are not tracked

A code made here contains your content directly. When someone scans it, their phone goes straight to your content. We are not in the path and cannot see that a scan happened. This is a deliberate design choice, not a limitation.

What the site does record

• Server logs. Standard, short-lived access logs (IP address, browser type, page requested) kept for security and to keep the service running.
• Google Analytics measures visits to the pages. What it records is listed below.
• Advertising. The pages load Google’s advertising code; see Advertising.
• Fonts. Pages load typefaces from Google Fonts; your browser sends its IP address to Google as part of that request, as with any web resource.

Cookies

QR Studio itself sets no cookies and keeps nothing in your browser’s storage. Google Analytics sets two cookies, described under Google Analytics, and advertising cookies are described under Advertising.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, a measurement service from Google, to count visits and to see which kinds of code people make, so we know which pages to improve. It runs on every page of this site and reports to the same Analytics account as 4brainslabs.com and the other 4Brains Labs tools.

On this site, for each visit, Google Analytics records:

• the address and title of each page you open, and the page that sent you here, if there was one;
• when you scroll to near the end of a page, and the address of any link you click that leads to another website;
• how long a page is open, and technical details: screen size, browser language, and browser and operating-system version;
• your approximate location (country or city), which Google works out from your IP address. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.

It does not receive what you type into the generator, the logo you add or the code you download. We checked this by recording everything this site sent to Google Analytics while a link and a WiFi name were typed in, a logo was added, a PNG and an SVG were downloaded and a link to another site was clicked: the typed text was in none of the requests, and the downloads sent nothing.

Google Analytics sets two cookies: _ga, a random number that lets it tell repeat visits apart, and _ga_N20PRFRKYY, which keeps track of the current visit. Google sets both to last up to 2 years; some browsers delete them sooner. The reports we see are counts and trends, such as how many people opened the WiFi page in a week. They do not show us your name, email address or IP address.

How to opt out. To stop Google Analytics from measuring your visits, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Blocking or deleting this site’s cookies in your browser settings stops Analytics from recognising you as a returning visitor. The generator works the same without Google Analytics.

Advertising

To keep the tool free we show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and read more in Google’s advertising policies. Other third-party ad networks may also serve ads and set cookies here; you can opt out of many of them at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu.

Your rights

There is no account, and nothing you type or make here reaches us, so we hold no record of your codes. What we do hold about a visit is the server log entry described above. To ask what the logs hold about your visits, or to have it deleted, email contact@4brains.in. Google Analytics data is held by Google; the opt-out add-on above stops it being collected. Questions about this policy go to the same address.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
