Questions about SSCC-18 barcodes

What is an SSCC?

An 18-digit number that uniquely identifies one logistic unit, usually a pallet, made from your GS1 company prefix plus a serial you allocate.

Is this the whole pallet label?

No, just the barcode. A GS1 logistics label also carries the SSCC in human-readable form and usually the contents.

Does it need GS1?

Yes, the company prefix inside it comes from GS1.
